First Pics and Finally Made A Change

I've had my 70 F100 for nearly five years now, and I've never really made any changes to it, other than installing a factory 4-bbl intake.

It was my wife's grandfather's truck, and he bought it new. He put a camper shell on it immediately, and put carpet in the bed, so there's never been anything on the floor of the bed.

It's a LWB Ranger XLT with 360/C6/PS/PB/AC. Just turned 108K last week.

I'm working toward a full restoration, and I've been buying parts since right after I got it. So far, I've got everything new (NOS) for the dash (gauges, bezel, switches, etc.), all of the moldings except one lower door molding, all new (NOS) emblems, factory buckets, 390 crank and rods, Edelbrock intake, headers, and a TON of other parts.

Well, last summer I bought an old 79 F100 parts truck for the disc brake conversion. I gave $150 for it, and by the time I parted it out, I made over $1200. I ended up with the complete front end for the brake conversion and a set of decent chrome wheels with nice tires (50% tread).

Yesterday, I was bored, and the truck needed tires, so I cleaned up the wheels and put them on my truck. First real mod since I've had it. MAN, what a difference the tires and wheels made, both in the appearance of the truck AND the way it drives.

As far as the paint, I plan on going back with red/white two-tone. The green and yellow just don't do it for me... LOL

Good afternoon 70_F100! Your truck looks fantastic with the new wheels!

A pristine bed interior is pretty rare with these trucks, it seems, since so many of these trucks were used to haul firewood, rocks, dirt, and brush.

The red and white two-tone is one of my favorite looks for these trucks! Do you have any photos of similar appearances that illustrate the look you're planning on?

I too like those wheels. I had a set of them from my 92' extended cab F-150 Lightning that I ran on my 79' dent for a few years. Had to give them up when moving here to Bartow.

I have long planed to get a set of factory ford rims from the early 90s and toss them on my 68.

I'd literally kill for a pristine bed interior... im afraid to look at how bad mine is. decades of setting and surface rust. For many many years it was full of wet leaves.....
