I have that exact same press. It gets the job done, and is inexpensive. I got it mainly for pressing suspension bushings, but have used it for several other tasks. It's not a professional-grade setup by any means, but is adequate for most hobbyists.

Re: Harbor Freight Shop Press... Anybody?
Thanks Keith. That's exactly the kind of thing I'll be using it for.

It might not be tall enough to handle axle bearings on a 9" Ford pickup rear - a Jeep axle barely fit.
Tried getting the bearing out of a Subaru knuckle - wouldn't budge... The "ram" - that peg under the jack - mashed itself into that tubing it's stuck to... cut that off and welded a plate there.
Tried getting the bearing out of an Expedition? knuckle and it wouldn't budge... looks like it was starting to mash the tubing that the jack sits on.
Free Pair of Arbor Plates with Purchase.... they're kind of crude. one is a bit thicker than the other.
Still, better than a hammer(press-on-a-stick) for many jobs.

Bought it today (had a coupon) and already pressed two gears of two Farmall Cub crankshafts. Worked well for that. I can see where it will have to be beefed up for a major job.

is the shaft under ram hollow , with a solid plug welded to end that contacts work? I have been thinking about one of these, but it sounds like "minor adjustments" will be necessary.....still probably worth the money. Better than the #3 hammer

Re: Harbor Freight Shop Press... Anybody?
I got one of these about 3 months ago and have no complaints. I've only used it for distributor gears and A arm bushings so far. I second the motion that it's not tall enough but that can be fixed. I would think that all that would have to be done is to extend the legs a little.

I have that exact same one, you have to watch out every once in a while for pushing king pins out, that cross member is sometimes weak.
