My new 1969 swb project

I just bought a 1969 swb. I cant wait to get started on it. I have so many ideas of what I want to do, but first I have to sell my 1955 Buick that I never started so I can have the funds to do this build. As you may already know I have a 1968 f250 camper special that I have rebuilt. Being a f250 and a 390 it is a gas guzzler. I always wanted a swb and I like the 300-6. So when I found this truck I had to have it.
This truck has front disc brakes, 300-6 with fi exhaust manifold, 4sp. It runs great, no smoke and lots of power,though the carb needs rebuilt. The front fenders and inner fenders will need replaced. The bed is junk so I will have to find a better one.
It may be awhile before I get started but I will be researching alot on this forum This is the 3rd bump that I have owned.

I believe this truck is a Emmett city truck. I lived there for a year ,and I remember seeing the city trucks painted this color. There is also a stepside that was for sale at the same time I bought this one. It is painted the same color. I am thinking of painting this one white. I really like the blue and white combo of my other truck. People comment on the color all the time. That will be my second choice.

Well I just bought a 72 swb. I could not find a good bed to replace the one on the orange truck so I bought a whole other truck. now I have a 68,69,72. The 72 has a 240 six with a c4 I think? I dont know what gears the rear has, the 69 has 3.50. I should have plenty of parts to build a nice truck. Now the fun begins. I need to decide if I want a c4 or the t18 4spd ? I like the idea of a 5 spd. My oringinal plan was a c4 with the 300 and a 240 head. I want to hot rod this truck but it will end up being a daily driver after awhile.
What do you guys think c4, t18 or 5spd ?

, Nice ride! Sounds like you've got your hands on a bump farm . As far as the tranny it's really up to you, but both me and my dad really like the T-18 in my truck, however it is a truck transmission and would probably be best suited for towing, rather than hot-rodding. But the tranny could surely put up with just about anything you can throw at it . I have thought about swapping in a 5 speed as well, especially one out of a newer truck but I think I'm going to keep my 4 speed just because I love the solid truck-like shifts I get outta it .
