Re: Tool boxes
If I can get into where it is packed, I have a 1940 ish Kennedy machinist top box. My dad bought it in the 50's at an auction. In the 60's he owned/operated a gas station in Vegas. He was driving down the road , hit a bump, and the box flew out on the road, scattering tools everywhere. He stopped, picked everything up tossed it in the cab. Only damage to the box was paint (badly chipped/scraped off) and it popped over 1/2 of the rivets that help the lid on. Love that old box! I repainted it Plum Crazy, since I had a little bit left over a decade or so ago. If I can get into it, I will take a pic and post. Also have a couple of old Ford "Monkey Wrenches."
When in doubt, hit the gas. It may not be the right answer, but at least it ends the suspense!!
