Re: Favorite hot rodding songs?
+1 to "Hot Rod Lincoln"
Also (this won't win me any friends here) "409" - Beach Boys, "Convoy" - C.W. McCall, "The Ballad of Thunder Road" (done by many artist), and of course "Stroker Ace" - CDB.
Back in the 80 Car and Driver (yes the magazine) put out a CD of Car Tunes... Lots of good stuff on it if you are in a "retro" mood...

Re: Favorite hot rodding songs?
I know I'm old when I'm surprised Rob Zombie has a rodder song.
Little Deuce Coupe
Shut Down
The Little Old Lady from Pasadena
And this one's not really a hot rod song, but man I love to crank it when I'm cruisin the back roads. . . . .

Re: Favorite hot rodding songs?
"Hot Rod Lincoln" Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen. I liked the song so much, I built a hot rod Lincoln. Well more like a chopped '56 Ford. '56 Ford car, body removed and frame shortened 20 inches and '34 Ford truck cab/flat deck, 272 Y block, dual exhaust, Ford-O-Matic transmission, '29 Model A front fenders and running boards. I cut the drive shaft to length on my steel lathe and re-welded in the yokes. And "Yup!" we got chased real good a couple times but never caught, yet. And, my last name is Cody. So was fun while the song was still around. Good memories, now it sits there under dust and 4 flat tires. Guess I should flash it up again and go out and see if I can hurt myself.
