theres no gain with a 427 crank/rods as it's the same stroke as a 390.
only benifit would be if it's forged crank and LeMans rods you can spin it over 6000rpm and not worry.
Also check you motor mounts. That's a early 2 hole block which you'll need to get creative with to fit it to your later style truck mounts.

so the mounts are different? its a '64 block. im gona put the lights in it. ill make new body moldings or chop the one out of a 78 to go around them.

Yes. this is a later block. The 2 holes farther apart forward of the 2 near the expansion plug are what's used for the mounts.
Not saying you cant use it, but you'll need to figure out something for mounts. Maybe just use earlier mounts. Maybe someone who's used the earlier block will chime in...

With the wiring harness pulled out, now would be a good time for a good inspection of it. And will be much easier to do any repairs on it now, (instead of once it's back into the truck).

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!
