so things at work didnt go as planned. ended up getting canned over stupid stuff but nabbed a job working at a mercedes benz dealer that i start monday so that will be way better. however ive managed to make some progress over the past few days on the f100 working on stuff that i already had parts for. tail lights are mounted up. pulled the old bed wood out along with all the strips and such. going to get wood for it tomorrow that im going to do some cool weathering too and install. need to wire wheel the bed strips down and paint them. got stainless steel bolts for everything that im taking apart too. pulled out the bent piece between the bottom of the front and the bumper. going to cut 3 inches out of the front of the frame and re weld the bumper mount to flush the new front bumper when i find a good one. this one is all bent up. also replaced the trans cover with one that wasnt all cut up. truck started as a 3speed manuel then got switched to a floor shifted c-4. never replaced the cover so had huge hole. going to switch to a 5 speed manuel soon. on to the pics!

Wow, long time no update. Thats probably because there hasnt been any work done in months. Really hate when real life gets in the way. Since the last update I've gotten divorced, moved three times, lost my job at Mercedes, gone through a huge infection in my face and jaw that almost killed me, bought and sold two other trucks and have done almost absolutely nothing on the red truck. This thing hasnt moved in a year, literally. Through all this I have learned to be more humble and a better person. Being out of work and now only having big red as a vehicle has put my ass back to work on it. This week has seen me install all the stuff I had previously bought (msd box, steering wheel, etc), bought a new floor mounted shifter for the c4, started building a tool box to match the bed flooring and do some clean up work. Oh, and register it  Also installed a power brake booster. Hoping to work up a front disk setup here soon and install a explorer 8.8 rear end with limited slip and discs out back as well. Gotta get it running first. Here's a few pics...

What's a tool box for a hot rod pickup without a built in cooler for beer?

This happened to me too this year. Hard to believe at times I know, but hang in there it will make us better men moving forward. BTW I like the toolbox/cooler that woulda' been a Florida thing if I were still there!

bussed it down to the shop in the pouring rain today. installed the carb that i got yesterday. went and bought a new battery and some wiring for the tail lights. i plan on rewiring the entire truck over time. also managed to fit the tool box in the bed and wow, i managed to measure it perfect. about a 1/8 of an inch on either side and sits right below the window. tried to get it fired up but no go... :hmm: see the engine forum for my issues with that. the room mate was in the area so called it an early day and got a ride home. more tomorrow.
