Could just be an optical illusion, but did ya forget to tighten a clamp?

No, the hose is short, and its a long neck thermostat. So if I go too low it leaks water.

Sweet looking engine man!
Isn't that a Duraspark distributor? But I don't see the box? :hmm:

Its a duraspark cap, the distributor is just stock from autozone for like 70 bucks. The box is actually mounted by my jack.

swet engine! i really like the black valve covers. Just today i had a short hose problem, and my personal solution was not very ortodoxe but still worked, so wath the hek!. i really like how your engine looks.

I think you're seeing the excess end of the hose clamp there.

When I do hoses and am feeling particularly anal I trim that stuff off, but usually I'm just lazy ;)

Actually it's the dark area under the excess (on the hose it's self, that looks like the clamp is slightly askew on the hose and not tight, but could well just be the "pooch" of the hose showing a bit darker. If you'll click the pic I edited, you should be able to see it :)

Like I say though, it's likely optical illusion :D

Oh man, I cant believed you looked that close. I would have never seen that detail. But I see what you mean, no it is rather tight and no leaks. But i triple checked it once you said that i had to make sure.

Hey Bud! also working on a 68 swb f-100 myself, have had the truck for about 15 years and finally picked up the wrenches. Keep it up for your project is inspiring for myself!

Thanks. Today, I put on 2 transmission lines. The old owner had rubber hoses spliced in that leaked. Bought 4 fittings, 2 5' tubes, and wam no more tranny leakage. Installed rear view mirror on my windshield, and put on a new carburetor spring to make it idle right. Than I welded up a new threaded rod for my gas pedal so now its the correct length off the floor instead of like 8 inches of.

Yesterday started wire brushing and sanding the bed prepping for bed liner. Red directions and it said not to paint it like other individuals said. So I didnt, i layed it on today. it slightly peeled, nothing major I dont think. I am done with coat 2, i got 1 more to do. When it dried I will post pics. Only did the floor portion, not the walls yet. That will take another gallon.
