Post by f100fordtruck »

I have a stripped bolt on my intake, what could I do to get that thang off? I had to and i was able to get the other one off with a smaller socket and some massive leverage but i cant get the other one
I'll get it one piece at a time and it wont cost me a dime...

That or a nut , just weld the center of the nut to the bolt with a wire or stick welder.
then you should be able to use a wrench or socket.

I am assuming that you have rounded off the head of the bolt. Buy an engine stud removal tool. Place it over the head, or what's left of it, and the more you tighten it, the more pressure is placed on the bolt and it should come out. It has an eccentric that presses against the bolt head and I have used them on exhaust bolts. If you need more bolt to hang onto then you should weld on extra steel then give it another try. They also work great in close or tight areas. Good luck!

I have used Image these to get me out of a jam working on stuff out in the middle of nowhere. If you can heat it up a little then spray it down with pb blaster or oil and that will help break it free.
