A little bump for the head, traveling pictures
When you have to work, it's nice to have a bump to do it in.
I needed to run down to Clarksburg, WV today (110 miles one way) for a meeting and thought to my self.... self, it's supposed to be sunny out, take the bump.
There are times when you just have to take a picture with the phone while you are driving.
If you can read the speedo in a picture, it's not vibrating.... truck cruises smooth
Headed up 79
Got to love west coast mirrors.
Headed down toward Cheat Lake on 68E

Not only does it work, it's fairly accurate!

And of course if you notice the difference between the second and last photo's you will be able to tell the difference between MD and PA's roads...

I've had lots of gas gauges that work, it is the accuracy thats rare.

Re: A little bump for the head, traveling pictures
the gas guage in my 67 had always worked and was accurate, but the other gauges didn't work at all and I supplemented them with manual guages. The 70 is exactly the opposite and I can't seem to get that dang gas gauge to work for the life of me.

I Like what I am seeing there!!
I was just out at Clarsburg 3 weeks ago. This was my first trip, excluding passing through on the interstate. that is a very nice area and the wildlife (critters) were all over the place. Like to go back there one day when we have more time to check it out..

I am old school big truck. Used to drive a B-Model Mack
Different old school today.
I'm down in Florida working on the FIL's 32 Buick and need a kit to rebuild the fuel pump.

Re: A little bump for the head, traveling pictures
I'm still taking the truck out whenever I can. It's running good, got the new clutch in it, gotta love it.
I took the truck out across 22 in PA to Altoona last week then cross country into Clearfield county then down through Indiana PA and back home. I decided when I gassed up in the morning that I was going to take it easy and see how my mileage went. The route I took didn't have many lights and I stayed in the 55-60 range or the speed limit if it was under. When I gassed up I found I'd gotten 17.5mpg, I checked twice. Not bad for the old girl, everything is right on her down to the tire pressure.
Not to shabby.
I took a cut past our old cabin on some dirt roads too. Plus, a nice covered bridge.
Stopped by at an old friends farm to say hi.
All in all, a good day.
