Hot Rod Power Tour
Will I be seeing any other Fordification members on the Power Tour? Starts in Newton, IA on June, 5th. I went last year and only saw three or four "bumps". Looking forward to seeing more this year.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour
Well, I have been disappointed to find no other Bumpsides on the Power Tour so far. I haven't had any luck finding Jeff yet, but Painless has a hot spokes model. But all in all, this years is way better than last. Alot more vendors and freebies and alot more participation. I am glad to see people that aren't afraid to drive their rides. Also, I have been impressed with the number of people that have come out to the curbs, front yards and the venues to see our rides. And I hate to say it, but the Chevy truck guys are making us look bad That's all I have been seeing and I'm getting a little sick of them. Maybe we'll have a better turn out next year.

What does the tour entail? Like do you just cruise or what?

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour
Are you driving the whole tour to the Battleship. I didn't plan my time home so I could be there. We are only an hour from the Battleship Park. Maybe next year. Are you going to post pictures aftewards? At least you are there representing the bumps. ![Thumbs up ](./images/smilies/icon_thumright.gif)

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour
I am turning around at Chatanooga, TN. I've got to get back to work. The Hot Rod Power Tour is a week long car cruise. This year it started in Newton, IA on Sat. June 5. Then on Sunday morning, we all head out to the next stop, Springfield, IL. Every day to another city. DuQuoin, IL, Bowling Green, KY, Chatanooga, TN then into Alabama ending in Mobile, AL. At each city it's like a huge car show. Like 2000 plus cars and trucks. And everything is welcome, all makes and models. You'll see brand new Camaro's, Mustang's, Challenger's and Corvette's as well as every make and model back to the beginning. I enjoy the trucks the oddball stuff like the station wagon from the movie "Vacation" or the Pontiac LeMans cop car from "Smokey and the Bandit". Stock models to extreme mods and swaps. It's just cool to see what can be done to some of these vehicles. And of course the more money you have the more mods you can do. You'll see grandma and grandpa passing a row of rods in their new corvette or a family in their tri five chevy's and wagon's and young bucks in their tuners. There are stops along the way to places like "Holley" manufacturing and "Ididit" steering columns and drag strips along the way. Every night the hotel and motel parking lots are like mini car shows, with the parking lots full and everyone out cleaning and polishing and making repairs for the next day. If you do have an unfortunate break down, there will be any number of people (that you may have never met) stopping to help you out. I think it's an unwritten motto "no hot rods left behind". Peolpe line the streets and roads and overpasses along the route to watch and take pictures. In Keokuk, IA this year, it was like a parade of hot rods. Plenty of burn outs (which the crowd absolutely loves). And aftermarket vendors setup at each city to push thier products and give away freebies. Chip Foose was on location in Newton, IA on Saturday as a spokesperson for Magnaflow exhausts. I didn't see him turn a single person away from an autograph or photo. It also changes routes every year.
