Just heard that one on Calgary's best classic country station (am1060)

lol. that wouldn't be mr. tom t. hall would it?

faster horses.

Could it be you're afraid of what your friends might say
If they knew you believe in God above?
They should realize before they criticize
that God is the only way to love

Is your mind so small that you have to fall
In with the pack wherever they run
Will you still sneer when death is near
And say they may as well worship the sun?

Okay, I'll guess...
After Forever Black Sabbath
fascinating song, considering the source...

we all have sorrow
but if we are wise
we know that there's always tomorrow...'

Man, I cannot remember how it went or who sung it but this reminded me of it. It was about a trucker who's wife was in a motel with another man and the trucker drove his rig into the motel.
Anybody remember it?

Papa Loved Mama by Garth Brooks - "Papa burried his rig in the local motel"

Here's an oldie:

"Grape wine in a mason jar
Homemade and brought to school
By a friend of mine after class
Me and him and this other fool
Decided that we'll drink up whats left
chug-a-lug so I helped myself
first time for everything
umm my ears still ring"
Timothy

It's for my twin boys, sure they're only 3 right now, but it's all for them! Well, and my twin girls. They're not even 1 yet, but when they are I'll have a pit crew!

Roll into town - step off the bus.
Shake off that where you came from dust.
Grab your guitar - walk down the street.
Signs say Nashville, Tennessee.

Garth Brooks, thanks. the grape wine thing sure brings back memories. My dad WAS a trucker and liked to make home made wine and I loved to take it to school. lol

Doesn't seem to be one to guess on.
Basketcase, you stole my thunder. I was reading the thread and no one had posted Arlo. I was gonna go for Alice.

This might be a little tough.

If I had the money, if I had my say
I’d just sit right here and make music all day
It lifts up my mind runs deep in my blood....
Sometimes the mind, for reasons we don't necessarily understand, just decides to go to the store for a quart of milk.
