biggest production pick-up truck!
Yesterday I bought my wife a truck for an anniversary present. Actually an SUV. At any rate, while I was driving the anniversary truck to best buy to get some speakers for it and maybe a router for our computer I happened to park next to something very unusual. A giant pick-up was sitting in the Best Buy parking lot. It turns out that is is an International CXT. And after reading about it on this website I learned it is built right here in Texas! Garland to be exact.

Heck yeah I took some photos!
Oh, and by the way that black suv on the left in the last picture is what I bought my wife for our one month anniversary! LOL It's a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban. It has 150,000 miles on it. I am getting the brakes done today. It also needs shocks and a pitman arm but otherwise seems in pretty good shape. The body has a few more dents and scratches than I'd like but looks good from 20 or more feet away anyhow.
I got the PO down to $2450.00. I was still listed on CL for $2750.00 and he first posted it about 10 days ago for $3150.00. The KBB says it should be worth around $2500.00 to $3500 so I guess I did alright.
One reason I bought the truck so fast is because we are planning a big road trip at the end of June. We needed a comfortable vehicle to hold at least five people. It also has a heavy duty tow hitch which is a plus!

Mr. Short Fixtures better be endowed with a larger than normal wallet. Those MTX pickups go for 90k or better. We've sold a couple at the dealer where I work.Ranchero50 wrote:Ah, the Paul Bunyon truck for guys with little penis'...

The only downfall to the 90's era burbs was the 4L60E. The weight of the burb is too much for a 60E IMO. They had numerous issues with tranny failure.

Re: biggest production pick-up truck!
Some guy around here has a red one with truck stacks. Its lifted a BUNCH and has huge tires on it, heard him fire it up. Sounded like a nice big powerstroke.
EDIT- Never mind, the truck I saw was a Ford. I thought International went out of business?

Their corporate name has changed a few times but International is still a major player in the medium-heavy truck market.bb429power wrote:

BTW, International is who actually makes Ford's Powerstroke engines.

I seen 3 of these last year at the charlotte auto fair, dont know if their production or not but they all looked to be made the same way. the only thing different was the paint and rims.cdeal28078 wrote:Isn't there a Ford truck made like that also?

Re: biggest production pick-up truck!
Problems with their union labor caused them to get out of the passenger car/truck market in the early 80's. They overhauled the company and now only make industrial vehicles.AlleyCat wrote:Their corporate name has changed a few times but International is still a major player in the medium-heavy truck market.bb429power wrote:

Sucks because the Scout II was one of the best 4x4's ever made.
