that is good to know. but since they have sold some of thier original molds they will have to buy the parts from the people who they sodl the molds to such as dennins carpenter. other stuff they will have molds or diagrams to remake the molds i am sure.

Here's the key to that (from the article): "officially licensed "

Ford won't be making them, but they'll sell their official license to people that are making new parts. Wonder what their quality control will be like? I'm betting it'll be the same people that are out there now, with the same parts, but now with higher prices and the Ford logo on them.

It's for my twin boys, sure they're only 3 right now, but it's all for them! Well, and my twin girls. They're not even 1 yet, but when they are I'll have a pit crew!

Went to the website listed for the parts,,,fordrestorationparts.com and its nothing more than a list of vendors and supplyers. most of them we already use.

but atleast if you call one of the listed Authorized dealers, atlweast ths means 2 things, one Ford has sufficiantly protected it's copy right as the court(s) See it, and two, you don't have to worry about the repop place being shut down. and i think a third thing possably happens as a fringe benefit, Ford will fight to keep the government from completely destroying the restoration hobby.

Ford could care less about restoring these old cars/trucks. What it all boils down to is they're missing out on some money & have figured out a way to get a piece of the pie. By putting a Ford stamp on everything. Its just a marketing ploy.

In all honesty, we, the bump/dent guys espically, owe a big thanks to Dennis Carpenter. He bought all the tools when Ford sold them off as junk. Could you guys imagine how it would be if he wouldnt have bought them, & Ford sold them off as scrap ??

I've said it before & i'll say it again, Ford could care less. . . .
