Trailer
I am looking at getting a used utility trailer soon. i am wanting something about 6 x 10 or so, light duty, single axle. Something my Ranger can handle.
I get called a bit being asked to clean up job sites etc. And my little 6' bed Ranger can only haul so much. Some times I have to drive a bit and multiple trips just do not seem smart.
Use it to haul things like lawn equipment, lumber, demolition debris, air conditioner cages, tree limbs and dead bushes, old appliances, etc.
I would use the F100 but its on the back burner till I find a few more parts.
So do you think I can find a half way road worthy trailer that size for $250 or less?

Re: Trailer
I went and looked at a 5 x 10 trailer today with a ramp. Guy is wanting $250. Trying to make my mind up. I bet the next few I look at will just be more.
Trailer would have helped today. I had logs in my back seat.
Let me start over...
As mentioned in my other thread asking about three phase motors, the scrap metal thing did not pan out. But I did get to make some money cleaning up a few other properties these people owned. 30 miles each way. Ended up having to make 5 trips. Two for the old deck lumber and some rolls of carpet in the back yard, third I went back to cut up a fallen half of a Bradford Pair. Got it cut up just as it started to storm so I had to leave.
Went back up today, loaded the branches up in my Ranger. Told my self I would be danged if I had to make another trip up there.
Before I went back to load up the branches I told the guy I would be done today. Then after that I find out our local recycling center is not accepting yard waste due to the rain we had Friday. Seriously?
I was not sure if I call the guy back and tell him I can not finish untill Tuesday (when the place opens again and hope it does not rain before then or get it and leave it in my truck untill then) Being as I had already told him I would get the job finished today I thought that would just be as bad as backing out to tell him I had to wait.
So anyway I get all the branches loaded up and come back home. Then I decided it would be in my best interest to go back up there again and tidy up a bit. Racked leaves out of the street and out of the grass. Also noticed the yard crew just cut the grass around this fallen limb. I wonder why they did not remove it their selves. Maybe thats why they are looking for someone to do yard work now. This fifth trip was not with my Ranger. Borrowed dads truck to go do it.
Dad says I do not need a trailer. This is the eighth time so far this year where one would have made things easier. Could have done all this in maybe three loads. A quarter of what I made got ate up in gas going back and forth.

Re: Trailer
i would suggest at least a trailer you can put sides on then or that has sides on it already. removable sides is better for sure.

Re: Trailer
I'd buy the trailer. It's a decent easily sellable size and you can overload the bejesus out of it and just drop it if the recycling place isn't opened. It's a force multiplier to be sure. At $20/hr how much do you lose now running the road?
Once the bump is on the road trade up to a 16' landscape trailer. It'll eventually pay for itself.

Re: Trailer
maybe he only wanted 150 but had it offered at 250. or maybe he uped the price on that guy and he came down and sold it to him. i have seen that happen before. ask more and then come down when they make you an offer and you get the original asking price.
