Wow, so that's what a correct air cleaner / pcv system / pre-heater set up looks like !!!!
You have a very good base to start with. I had to 'rig' my whole truck up, but over time got it like I want.
Good luck with the power steering. You'll love the results!!!
My truck has the 3.70 gear as well. She'll pull anything I want her to!!! I put a 3.00 gear in it when I was commuting from Auburn to Louisiana a few times a year.

The more I work on my truck the more discrepancies I find with what the seller told me.

Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
I plan to start my power steering conversion sunday. There is a procedure I want to do and I was going to run it by you guys to see if its even plausible. After I get it all bolted up I was thinking about putting the return hose in a jug and start the truck up as it pumps fluid into jug i would add more fluid to pump as to flush the whole system with clean fluid...Would this work?

It's funny how that is. When I bought mine I was told it was a daily driver. I got it home and found out that the engine/trans wasen't bolted in. The trans had a cracked bellhousing. The list goes on. Your truck looks solid. Good luck with it.

Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
Well when I got off of work this morning I decided to start on my conversion to power steering. I ended up putting the new water pump on with the 3groove fan pulley, crank pulley, and alt pulley and new belts. I had a few hiccups so I didn't get to the gear box or to replacing the driver side stand.I work a double Saturday so I think I will wait til I'm off Tuesday to complete conversion....But it looks cool with those double belts and engine is much quieter now with the new water pump.....

Check this picture out. About halfway up from the bolt holes there is a bend in the stand. is this normal?

Yes that bend is normal. I asked the same exact thing a while ago
and as for not lining up there should be two sets of holes

Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
I had a accident Thursday and hurt my ribs..So it has made this conversion harder than it should be.But I got the gear box bolted on today. If its not raining tomorrow I will bolt the column up and put the pump on.

Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
I just got finished with my power steering conversion and I believe I got a good system. I flushed system like I was talking about doing on another post and I am glad I did cause I got some nasty stuff out of it.I was worried at first because the pump was making a loud winding sound. I guess it just had air in the lines cause I kept working steering back and forth and now its quit. I will have to replace the high pressure line due to a pin hole leak but thats no problem. I had a devil of a time trying to find a stupid ps belt and I finally got one at auto zone.I will take some pics later when the sun goes down cause its too bright out right now. Well all is left is putting the tools up!!
