Hey guys so i finaly have mroe time now that school is over for the summer and more cash cause im working full time, so i want to start working on my truck now.. I kno im going to need to put alot of doner parts and was looking around online and found a 74 f100 for a nice price, for what its worth.. So i would manily buy this doner truck for the front end, my question would be do the inner fenders bolt up from the 74 to the 67?? I kno the radiator support bolts up with a few modifactions, but does the rest of the front end bolt up?? Well let me know what you think. Heres the link to some pics of my 67 as it sits now.

Re: Inner fenders/ front end question
yes and no one the inner fender. they 73 and up model inner fenders are narrower than our inner fenders. so the firewall moutn bracket is also. so not all of the bolt holes can be used to mount to our firewalls. 2 out fo 3 will bolt up. being the inner fender is narrower the hood hinges wont line up correctly. and the 73 and up hood hinges mount to the outside of the inner fender. so you have to box the hood hing in to bolt it to the hood. this is not a recommended interchange. but it has been done by one or two others guys. everything else is a straight bolt on as far as steering and disc brakes from that truck.

Dang bud. That old truck is past the point of no return. You've got your work cut out for you, thats for sure.
I have a dentside donor truck & after carefull examination of the inner fenders, I ruled it would be too much work to fit them on a bumpside.
It could be done, but you would have ALOT of fab time wrapped up in doing so.

Yep, perfect candidate for a road trip to get a new body. Typical MA rust...

rust is usually far worse than it looks. That truck is the worst bump I've ver seen a picture of. If it hasn't been cared for in 40+ years it's a little late to start.

For what you are going to spend in the body panels alone it might be worth looking for a southern truck and have it shipped up. I am in VT and I know about the rotten climate (pun intended). Is there much on the truck worth salvaging? If it is the motor, trans, ect. I would look for a better condition truck to drop it into.

Re: Inner fenders/ front end question
I know how sentimental we can get over a truck a family member owned. My dad bought my 71 new and gave ot to me at 15 and I am 46 or 47 now. But I have to agree about the rust on your truck. If hit that truck with a commercial sand blaster you would not have much left of it. Hurts to hear but money wise you would be ahead of the game to find another truck to build and maybe use parts off of this truck to help fix it up.
BUT, it is your truck and you can and will do what you want with it. I suggest if you go ahead with it to invest in a good welder and cut off tools and take a class on body work
Good luck with it and you will learn a lot working on it

My 68 is just as bad i would not worry about it. The truck is a project you learn on these trucks.

Re: Inner fenders/ front end question
would for surs and find a good donor truck if you want to keep the truck (vin #) in the family. it will save you alot, and mean alot of frustration down the road. as for the blood, sweat and tears thats ok, once you find out you have ran out of cash and not time to replace parts because they are rotted, you will be upset at your standstill. if you havse a good truck to swap from it will make a world of difference...1982 flareside wrote:My 68 is just as bad i would not worry about it.
