I believe Advanced Adapters makes an adapter. The glide is a VERY popular drag racing tranny. A guy in town has one behind a 572 tube chassis Vega that runs 8's-9's.

whenb i was 14 my first car was a vega. it had a power glide. i would do a neutral drop withthe shifter and squeal the tire for a second. but it would alsway loosen up my toqure converter bolts. so i would have to retighten them the next day.

 I had a '66 chevy C10 back in the day. 327, powerglide & 4:10's. It wouldnt run 60mph on the highway, but it would get rubber going into "high" every time. :D

Buddy of mine had the same truck, only a '67 model. We were going down the highway one day when he decided to kick it up in neutral & rev it up. Long story short, he missed neutral & went straight to reverse. It was the most terrifying thing ever. The truck damn near did a 180 right in the middle of the highway. Thank God there was no traffic.

It busted a U joint on the driveshaft, but the glide was A-OK. They're a pretty tough tranny.

I can belive that, i had a 86 turbo coupe with the waste gate set to 25psi and that thing would fly. always wanted to put it in a small car to how much faster it would be. Back in 1990 a new corvette wanted to try me at 60mph, he jumped me by a car length till the turbo spooled up and when i went by him i waved bye to him and just pulled away from him like he was tied to a stump

I hear ya on the turbo cars. My buddy had a Dodge or Plymouth (cant remember) Laser turbo back in highschool. That car was crazy fast for what it was. We called it knight rider, cause all the instruments were digital. & I mean EVERYTHING was digital. It would cruise @ 120 on the highway & the car wasnt even breaking a sweat.

It was a cool car.

yeah, it's funny, the wiki on the cougars Denotes that may 7th Gen Cougar(1989-1997) That the Naturaly aspired Gas 3.8L is crap and can't even pull the car empty. I swear they need to get these things written by pro's not just any joe who wants to write in it. But this thing will fly pretty darn good. I'd hate to or mabe actualy love to see what the turbo charged 3.8L could do. I wonder if i could up it to the 4.6L V8 that was in the 96-97's?
