windshield
Hello
Could someone tell me if there are two different size windshields for the 68 F-250, Ranger Camper Special? I was to have mine replaced yesterday, but the tech that showed up in my driveway said he had the wrong one due to Ford making Camper Specials models in 68 with two different size windshields. Maybe I should go with another company.
Thanks, Mancar1

Re: windshield
I have never heard of another size of windsheild for any of our trucks. There was two different gaskets though, depending if you had the metal trim or not. Still the same windshield.

Re: windshield
Ive heard others on here say the windshields were the same from 67-79, i know ford kept the same from 80-96. I agree with Fireguy that the only two differences are the rubbers, one for trim and one for without trim.

Re: windshield
the interchange book i looked at on mentioned the mirror being a difference on windshield interchange from 67-79. wheather or not the windshield was glued to the windshield or not glued to it. i took that as the 67 having the mirror bolted above the windshield. i think the guy may not have known exactly what he was talking about. the gaskets are all the same for cs vs regular cabs. the only difference in gaskets is trim or no trim. and then in 73-79 there are different types of trims that go in the gaskets. but all the rubbers from 67-79 fit any 67-79 windshield. at the junkyard is a 68 with a 78 windshield gasket holding the windshield in. i keep forgetting to get a picture of it. edit: the book i looked at was mitchells interchange.

Yes they'll fit , but the later trucks had black paint around the lower edge.hazelnut wrote:i know ford kept the same from 80-96.
If you use an early glass in a later truck you see all the ugly below the dash pad.

Re: windshield
Thanks everyone, I had never heard of different size windshields for the 68 either, just figured maybe the guy knew something I didn't. This is the 6th Ford truck I have had over the years. Had a 65 Camper Special, 79 1/2 ton, 73 F-100, 81 Full size Ranger 1/2 ton, 06 Super Cap 1/2 ton, and now my 68 Ranger Camper Special. Love the Ford Trucks. Sold my 06 to get back into a older Ford truck.
Thanks again, Mancar1
