I am looking at a '71 F250 and there is NOT an in cab fuel tank or even the filler hole for one. I took a flashlight and shined it up in the location(inside cab) and it is all factory,no custom body work at all! Is this odd,or did Ford actually make trucks with only the tank under the bed?? Thanks

it may have been an option i am unsure. i do know they made a rubber plug to fill the hole in the cab at one time. so it is possible they had it as an option and the dealer may have removed the filler neck. and used the rubber to fill the hole. it is just a guess.

Ithought there was a truck down in corpus christi for sale a while back with no in cab tank and no hole or rubber plug in the cab. There is a thread here on it somewhere...
it was a '72 f100 and very very clean.

there were trucks made in Cali that did not have tanks in the cab but under the frame. it was just a Cali thing.

Yes there are bumps from the factory that had no incab tank, instead a storage box.

Well, I decided not to get the truck. It was originally green/white-now it's Black/silver. The underside of the doors were GONE! SO I passed it up. The guy wanted to trade me for my '88 Jeep Comanche. I think I will stick with my '77 for now.
