Speed and machine shop

Post by 1982 flareside »

There was a new machine open up in town. The town i live in is proberly 4000 people and it is a GM town. I go in figuring that they specialized in GM engine. Well i ask for a 4 barrell intake for a 390 just a cast iron one. The guy said that we have a whole shed full of 390's and 390's parts. He takes me back there and the room is full of FE parts and blocks. They even have two 427 cammers. Well the place is Pops Performance.

Thats pretty cool. I would love to see the cammer motors. Living in SE Oklahoma, the 427 cammer is something of a fairy tale. You only read about them.

Is this the same shop? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/POPS-NEW ... ccessories They are pricey and they have cammer conversion for FE's. Pretty cool. They also show a 429 Boss stroker on Ebay. Cool shop, I am envious of you living near by. I would love to have a true cammer for my 71 but not for $33,000. But it would be 8) 8) 8)

They are i find parts. They save it from the crusher they gave me store credit. Working on a free engine rebuild
Like today i traded one of them a tailgate for a 4 bbl intake that has been ported.
