Sliding glass window.
I don't know which cat to put this in so I'm posting it here. Does anyone know a source for the the cloth track that the factory sliding glass rear window rides in? I assume it was once cloth but, can't say for sure because all I have left is the rusty skeleton. This is the U shaped seal that the window runs in. Thanks.

Re: Sliding glass window.
When I bought a slider a few years ago I disassembled it and took the top channel (as it had little wear) to a local glass shop. They had no trouble matching it up with a piece they happened to have in stock. It has 'whiskers' like the horizontal pieces at the base of the door glass.

I do not believe sliding rear windows were factory. Prolly dealer installed.

Re: Sliding glass window.
Mine has Carlite glass and a late 1970 date code on all four panes. This fits with the brochures showing availability starting in 1970.

That's the one. I'll call the local glass shop in the morning.

Re: Sliding glass window.
I'm pretty sure mine is aftermarket, installed by a previous owner. The frames for the moveable sections are falling apart and it rattles like crazy. I'd like to replace the whole thing but I still want to have it able to open.
By the way, where I come from an openable rear window is called a "beer window" so you can toss your beer cans into the bed. It's all in jest though, I don't tolerate drinking and driving.
