OT~ Old school BMX= BIG $$$
I want you guys to have a look at this. Im just about sick over the deal. I dont have anyone but the wife to share it with & she could care less.
I guess it comes down to the famous last words, " If i'd only known"
I had two of these bikes when I was a teenager. BMX was real big around here when I was in jr. high. I sold one to a kid down the street for $20 bucks after I got a DL, & dad hauled the other to the dump. Both were in mint condition. Im gonna be sick .
The one dad hauled to the dump because I got my DL & didnt ride it anymore

Re: OT~ Old school BMX= BIG $$$
time to start saving them from the junkyard i guess. i have seen bicycles go for quite a bit lately. if they are soemthign special of course. i seen old good one at the junkyard the other day. it had the banan type seat but it was the flat type and wasnt curved. i dont know what seat it was called. but it was a older bicycle. that may have brought money if restored.

Re: OT~ Old school BMX= BIG $$$
When my nephew decided to become a skate rat about 2 years ago, I dug my old skateboard out of my mom's attic for him. It was a first generation Tony Alva board I bought new in 1978 or 79 for 98 bucks...which was a buttload of money for a board then. I remember my dad telling me I was stupid but, he just didn't understand skate park social hierarchy. It had Tracker trucks, Sims "pure juice" wheels, a kick plate and a fairly new improvement called "grip tape" on the deck. Plus all the appropriate stickers including the Dogtown cross.
I wasn't there when my nephew picked it up but, my mom called me and said he'd had a coniption fit when he saw it and told her it was worth several hundred bucks now...maybe even more...and that I should'nt let him use it.
I told her I would rather he have it and use it. She said I was stupid. I said at least I'm consistant! Parents just don't understand!

WAY too much for a Crap Star.
If it was a Hutch Judge or Hollywood (like the pair I have out in the barn), I could understand.

Redcap, I take it you rode Hutch bikes back in the day as well. Hate to break it to ya, but the Trick Star is the mecca for old school BMX collectors. I loved mine, it was a stout bike. You never had to worry about busting the frame with that bike.
The Hutch bikes fell out of favor when the GT & Dyno bikes came on the scene. The GT & Dyno bikes were alot lighter. A GT performer was half the weight of the Trick Star.
Oh well. Water under the bridge.

Lance, do you remember the old Skyway T/A ??
Owning that bike was like owning a Bandit Trans/Am.

I remember the desireability for te original Schwin Beach something or rathers when i was in school. One kid had one and it got stolen once a week for a few months, until his dad bought him a huffy to ride to and from school.

HAHAHA Yeah papabug I remember the Skyway T/A. I almost forgot I also had a CW. I always wanted a Patterson or GHP. I have raced against all sorts of bikes....Diamondback,Kuhara,Schwinn Predator,Redline,Torker,Quadangle,GT. I remember the days of Greg Hill and Harry Leary, the Pattersons......Those were the days of real BMX racing. Profile cranks,ACS "Z" wheels,AME grips with the different colored pull over sleeves,Hutch Beartrap pedals....oh yeah....memories! VERY fond ones

I remember a classmate of mine showed up at school in 7th grade (1981) with a brand new Redline. Most beautiful bike I had ever seen.
