ford pickups

Post by timmytim »

How old was you when you owned your first ford pickup? I was 17 and it was a 77 f100 green on green. 289 2v with 3 on the tree 373 gears. I had alot of fun in that old truck ended up running it through a telephone pole and losing my license for a year. :drive:

42. All the previous trucks I had were Chevy's. My 68 was my first Ford truck which I
got in 1999. My first truck was a 66 Chevy stepside with a 250. Also had a 72 Chevy stepside
with a 250, and later a 3/4 ton 78 Chevy with a regular bed. It had a 350 V8.
Now my dad had a 73 F-100 I drove a bit, but I don't count it being as I didn't own it.
It was a lot like my 74, except it had a 302 instead of the 240 my 74 has.
It was red trimmed where my 74 is blue trimmed. My 68 also has blue trim, and
the dash pad is still in good shape. If you watch my recent video, you see a blue cover
over the dash. That's to keep the sun off the actual dash pad. I cut that cover out of
blue naugahyde, and it has cutouts for the defrost vents.
Dang.. Kinda hard to believe I've had that truck 11 years already..

16 years old. My 1982 Ford F150 Flareside 4x4 4 speed 300 six 3.50 gears. It is a fun truck i was it the parking lot at school everybody was looking at these guy sh*t 10 doing a burnout it make a 5ft black mark it had a V6 5 speed, I laughed and said "My truck can do better then that." I was with my buddies and you do stupid stuff when they are around. So i get in my truck start it up, i gave it some gas let the glasspack crackle and pop. I pull up beside the s10 black mark and put it in 2 pop the clutch the tires grip and throw and made a 15 ft black mark. The guy said "if i had a V8 i could do that." I said "it's a inline 6" the guy asked me wat that is. i popped the hood show him the big six. He just got mad and left.

When I turned 16, I got my grandfathers 70 F100 which is now my wifes truck. I also have my dads 70 F250. They are family heirlooms I guess you can say.

Why is it that the trucks are always the best running vehicles in the family?

I got my 67 when I was 16. It was my first truck and I still have it at 29. Why would I get rid of it?? I have never found any kind of reason to consider getting rid of it.
