I am buying a Bass Boat.

Post by RTG_RACING »

I have wanted one for a while. Well I quit smoking and now I have the cash. It's a 2006 Stratos 200XL 225 horse dual console. A long time friend of the family is moving to his summer home in FL for good. He bought it new and hasen't used it but 15 hours tops. SO I am going to get it tomorrow and hit the lake hard this weekend.

Congrats! I traded my Motorcycle in on mine and haven't looked back! There a lot of fun, my boat is a little older, and is a center console bay fisher but let me tell you, your going to have a blast. As a matter a fact I took my folks out yesterday and cruised the bay, did some dolphin watching. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!

This could be a good post a pic of your boat thread! :hj:

I look forward to seeing some pics of yours for sure!

Nice! I can't wait to see some pictures of it in action 8). The one vehicle at our house I love more than my bump is our boat , nothing better then spending all day out on the water, with nothing on your mind but fishing! And ford4x4fun I think the "Post Pictures of Your Boat" thread would be a good idea! I'll see if I can find some good pictures of our boat out in the water when I get a chance! Won't be an easy task with all of the truck pictures on my hard-drive .

They say there are two times you smile while owning a boat. When you buy it and when you sell it. lol
I have had several and wish I had one now that I have time during the week to use it. Lakes around here are way too busy for me to get out there on a weekend and try and enjoy myself. I like it in the early morning when the water is calm and I have the lake to myself. Hard to get these days around here. Too many jet skies and drunks.
Take it easy at 1st. That is a lot of engine and that thing will probably run 65 mph and that is pretty dang fast on the water. Fast enough to get into trouble real fast. If this is not your 1st boat then ignore me. The larger engine I had on one was a 115 Yamaha and it would run 55 so your might run up to 70-75. That is hauling it.

Cool beans! We had a 18' Bayliner Capri a few years back. I sold it to make a down payment on a house of all things. I enjoyed it tho, & sadly, I havent been back on the water since I sold it :(

I have always been a fan of bass boats. Get to your favorite fishing hole at warp speed ! A good friend of mine has an older 80's era Kingfisher with a Evinrude 175 VRO on it. Its just flat out nuts wide open & trimmed out :)

If I could just stop shooting back and forth across the lake and start fishing. It does put a big grin on your face.

Nice boat. Mine would only run about 50-55 on smooth water with just me in it but that sure felt fast in the early morning with the water glass smooth. I sure miss those mornings. If the fish weren't biting I had fun just running around. At 70 I bet it is just touching the water every once in a while
