quick question!

Post by 1971ford »

On F350's, which way does the radius arm mount? Shock mount on the inside or on the outside of the radius arm? On f100's and f250's the shock mount is on the inside so i thought these would be the same but i found a picture of another f350 (although an earlier year) and the closed part of the radius arm is on the outside and open side is on the inside which would mean the shock mount is on the outside.

I'm putting my truck together right now, or atleast trying to and this just stopped all progress..

So I found a picture in the chassis comparison section that showed that f350 radius arms havea notch in the bottom if they had a sway bar up front (the truck did have one that i took the front end off of) so that tells me the notches must be on the bottom. this just makes it more confusing though because for the notches to be on the bottom, one radius arm wlil have to be one way and the other will have to be the other way.
In other words, when both radius arms are side by side they are identical. So having the notch on the bottom on both sides means the shock mount will be on the outside of one radius arm and on the inside on the other.

this is ridiculous..

Shock mount goes inside on both. Sway bar bracket gets flipped up side down on 1 of the other wise the bar wouldn't bolt up. :)

I got it after looking on fordification for an hour or two. I noticed on keith's build that only the passenger side notch goes down, the drivers side one goes on top. Front suspension and steering is all hooked up, truck just won't start now.
