And if it was stolen, you would be in possession of stolen property. Not to mention theft by smuggling it out of the yard. I doubt the yard would sell a loaded pistol to someone.BobbyFord wrote:What?!colorado71 wrote:Whats the strangest thing you have found at the junk yard?. was at the local yard yesterday looking for a couple back seat seat belts pulled the seat bottom out of a old chevy cavalier and found a .357 revolver! still loaded. so I stayed there and called the poliece to come and get it, who knows what it was used for.. .I would have taken it home. Re: strange finds at the junk yard.
First of all, no one would know it was ME in possession of stolen property (if, in fact it was stolen). Second of all I'm not sure I would display the weapon on the way out the door. Obviously nobody knew the weapon was there or it would have already been removed. I'd take my chances. If it turned out to be stolen, I would notify one of my cop buddies and make arrangements to bring in in to my local cop shop.flyboy2610 wrote:And if it was stolen, you would be in possession of stolen property. Went to get a set of seatbelts out of a '69 Montego (same as bumps) for the middle of the seat. Found two complete cat skeletons in a plastic bag on the floor...

A Dodge Slant 6 welded into a `73 Mercury Capri, with a Ford 9 3/8th's rear axle under it. Apparently someone thought they were putting a 9 inch under there. Oh, and it was welded to the spring perches, just like the engine was welded in place with angle iron.

Re: strange finds at the junk yard.
Not my strangest find but my worst. We were crushing cars one day and I was blindly reaching under the seats cleaning them out. The car I searching had no doors and as my bubby flipped it over with the loader a fairly large Rattlesnake fell out from under the seat.
It hit the roof on the inside of the car and it was pissed but not as much as i was scared...
Ill have to say that was the most exciting thing that happened to me that day.

i kind of look around the seat area before i stick my hand under it. mainly in the rear around the seat tracks. that is where all the spare change gathers at.

Re: strange finds at the junk yard.
My mother once bought a '77 Cutlass Supreme, for 500.00 in material and labor on qa bath remodel plus $1 so the title would have a sale price on it. Turned artound and had to replace the back bench and belts, found Benjamin franklin, folded in half in the seat springs. thius was in '85 or '86.
I found a rebuildables lot that had a real nice T-Bird about a '66 or newer with a Fresh T-bird 390 in it. didn't have the 3500 theyu wanted over in vinita,ok the lot is (maybe was by now) just south of the Turnpike. have found in one u pick it when i owned a 77 nova and needed the complete front sheet metal , in the one '77 on the lot the enire front had been remove to get to the engine and sub frame, except for the hood and fenders everything was in the car kept safe from the elements. The hood and fenders still prestine with a rael nice metalic burgandy where draped on the roof and tied down to keep them from being blown off by the wind.
