Well the GVW's for '68 2WD F-250s range from 6100-7500 lbs. and a '67 2WD F-250 Style-side has a curb-weight of 3815 lbs. meaning you can add an additional 2285-3685 lbs. Which I would translate into, 2285-3685 lbs. of tongue weight which is quite a bit of tongue weight or 2285-3685 lbs. of a load on the truck in total. You can determine your factory GVW by decoding your VIN. To decode your VIN go to this page: http://www.fordification.com/tech/VIN68.htm f
And for more info. on Curb Weights you can refer to this page: http://www.fordification.com/tech/dimensions.htm

Set up right, it could pull a box car! Getting the load moving isn't the issue. Getting it stopped is!
How good are your brakes? Will you be on any hills?

Good point flyboy! Stopping is definitely something to consider when towing any kind of load, that and knowing how your truck handles with the trailer behind it.

Tell us what you want to pull ,then we can give a more accurate answer.
What engine and tranny do you have ?

It's not how much it can pull .it's more about stopping and handling. :2cents:

If you're pulling often I'd think about trailer brakes and a tranny cooler.
if only a time or two, you should be fine. :2cents:
