Ford Ooops

Post by papabug71 »

I posted this over a .net for the dent guys, but i'll post it here for everyone to check out as well. I think its a full blown Ford mistake , but who knows.

I've had this parts truck for a long time. Better than 10 years. Never really got anything off of it cause it was a dent. Today I was looking it over, getting some #'s & I found this.

Here is the door data plate. Original to the truck, unmolested untill I pulled it off today. Can you find the mistake? :?

If it's a 74, the "S" sequence number started at 60,001 (last 73 was S60000), so the sequence number is incorrect.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Crap. My bad, its a '73 model truck.

I was talking about the first 3 of the vin. F10 This indicates a F-100 2wd truck. Next, look at the axle code, 17J. A front & rear axle code for a 2wd truck :?
