I never have a camera...

Post by wildcard »

...when I need one. My wife usually goes fishing with me and takes her camera. Today my best friend was with me and we had no camera.
Got to the ramp ahead of another old friend and we backed to the water side by side. He forgot to put his plug in and was going to pull up and drain his boat and put the plug in. Naturally, his Cheby wouldn't start. After 3 or 4 minutes of the boat steadily taking on water, I told him I would try to pull him up the ramp. Dropped my trailer and hooked up to him and prayed real hard. I know my clutch isn't real strong. And the ramp and hill are about 150 yds. long combined. And fairly steep. But that 300 I6 pulled his Cheby pickup, boat and part of the lake all the way to the top as if it were nothing. :woohoo:

AND THERE WASN'T A CAMERA ANTWHERE.

Haha. It might just be a six, but it's a very powerful six. (Hell.. 18 wheelers have 6 cylinders ;) )
My cousin had a 90s F150 with the I6. Powerful, but horrible mileage.

I did offer to take him home, launch his boat for him or tow it all home for him. He said he would just call a mechanic. Guess he didn't want anyone else seeing it behind a Ford.
And I won't let him forget it.

Why? Just start the boat and run it for a while. The venturi effect will suck the water out of the drain hole. Been there, done that Now forgetting the plug is the only reason I have rubber worms in the tackle box.
