Thanks for all the support! Yea I have been workin hard on it because my wife is pregnant with our first child (a boy!). Gotta get it done while I still have the time and money. Yea that color choice was not an option for me; I had to go back original! For now I have just built a flatbed for it, if I get time and money later I might build up the lwb stepside. My hold up now is I need a left parking brake cable and the steel grille isn't back from paint yet.

Well I finally finished (almost) the truck! Been driving it since Thanksgiving and have put several hundred miles on it. The truck is a blast to drive, except for the T-18 transmission and it's useless 1st gear! The 240 runs perfect and has plenty of power and doesn't mind doing almost 4k rpm at 70 :D . Still on the list are the front F-100 emblems, bed skirting and sides, floor covering, repaint hubcaps, hook up heater, and just added to the list is the 5 spd swap! My wife is being induced to have our baby tomorrow so I will probably have to wait a week or so to finish.
Thanks for all the support and compliments! :fr:

I still have the long step side bed and plan to slowly restore it. It has tons of holes drilled in the sides and fenders from the Forest Service, plus some cracks, rust, and rotten wood. Not ideal to do the truck paint in 2 stages like this, but it's all my budget would allow!

I teach at Kilgore College, from Longview tho. If I could do it over again i would have had it professionally painted. Some of the students involved saw it as mainly "practice" and didn't put as much care into a professional job :( but it still looks awesome for a farm truck!

Did they just do the paint or did they do the body work and rust removal as well? From the pics it looks great, even if it is just a farm truck.
