Yep, there's always plenty of Dew available. There's always at least a 12-pack in the shop when I'm working.

Here's a couple pictures of the progress I made last night. Hopefully I'll be able to finish up with the stripping on Saturday. Then I'll probably be spending a whole day making it as perfect as humanly possible....(or until I decide it's good enuff!)

Hopefully the next time you see this you won't even be able to tell what color it was originally....well, except for the top of the dash. I won't mess with that at all since it'll be hidden by the dash pad.

I hope mine turns out half as well when it gets to that stage.

wow keith that is a labor of love right now... How do you manage it? I mean i work at the local high school as the janitor and i work from 10 in the morning to 6 at night and then when i get home, with 7 kids i have a ton of homework to help with and by that time i spend sometime with the wife and to bed???? :hmm: so i'm trying to figure out how i'm going to work my project in there without messing up the greater balance of family life....my wife wants me just to get parts together right now and then later down the road find a truck but i feel if i let go i may never get another one... :? anyway have a nice day and great looking work your an inspiration to me....Terry

Lookin' good Keith!!
Fordman, I always thought a total chrome rig would look great too, but then I saw a few Harleys that people had totally chromed and it wasn't as cool as I thought... the contrast from paint to chrome looks better in my opinion.... but think of the $$ you'd have in a total chrome job on a pickup!!

PS. Keith, I'd vote for the black like you'd planned... it's more work all the way around, but it sure does look great when it's done!!!

Wolfpack...I regret getting rid of mine. Every day I think of the possibilities that were there...and now gone. My first, a 1970 SWB...sold it when I joined the Army in 1987...my 1969 SWB, I traded it in on 1991 Ranger in 1991...and my baby, the 1969 SWB 4x4 in my gallery...oh how I long for them. Of course I won't be able to get another one until I get back to the States in June 2007. Man, I miss them trucks!

I've seen that truck....it IS sharp. And I'm still leaning very strongly in that direction. So let's just say until you all hear differently, the plans are to go with an all-black truck. :D

I spent almost 8 solid hours today stripping more paint from the cab. It's about 98% done. I was hoping to have it completely finished before calling it a day, but my poor body had just had enough for one day. I should be able to get it finished up one night after work this coming week. Here's a shot of what it looks like now:

As soon as I post this message, I'm going to get started on a project update page with pics taken over the past couple of weeks. I'll let you all know when it's done.

even if i did black i would never lower a truck like that. it makes it look as if the cab should have been lower to match the rest of the truck. now it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. even though its a long bed it also makes it look to long. kind of like a stretch limo.
