It's a 72 f100 LWB Sport Custom with considerably less rust then my current truck, only problem is it has a slight title problem, in that the lady who bought it from a rebuilder died two days after buying it so it never got titled to her but the lot never titled it either they did the dealer transfer thing.
It would be grewat for parts but would rather get it 100% legal though. What do you guys think? is there a legal option on this besides parts truck?

Last year my dad filed for a title on a boat, took 4 months to get it. Guy owed him 4 years storage. Had to send regestered letters to the title owners last known address, Got no responce. Then place ads in the paper for 30 days. He had to jump through some other hoops to. Being as he had money owed to him might make it different.

Check with your DVM and see what process is for abandoned vehicle title. What does dealer say? They might acknowledge the sale and with a copy of the death certificate you may be able to get title from MO.

I would think that the truck would be part of her estate and you would have to talk to the person with the power of attorney over her legal matters. It may be subject to sale / probate so that the money raised goes to her previous debts.
You may want to talk to a estate lawyer about the situation if the truck is worth the effort.

There are several types of vehicle leins. Find the one that suits the situation best and use it, this is what leins are for.
Mechanic leins are the most efficient, but usually require you prove certain things like value of work done and EIN. Anyone can do a storage lein, just takes a few months.

I just went through this with an enclosed trailer here in NM. I had traded some stuff for the trailer and never got the title. I went and explained the situation to the DMV. Here's the steps that were required in NM.
50 state search for previous registration $0
50 state check for being stolen $0
If previous registrants were found then I would of had to contact them and get a notarized letter stating that they had no claim to the vehicle.
Take out a surety bond for twice the vehicles value (3 year bond). $50 bucks for the bond. $100 fee from state farm to prepare the bond.
Present the bond and notarized letter(s) if applicable to DMV and pay normal title and registration fees.
In my case it was pretty fast as the trailer had never been registered and there were no previous owners found in 50 states. You're not likely to get that lucky with the 72. The bond took two weeks to prepare so that was my only wait. Your state may have similar or different steps. Go to the DMV and they'll let you know what you need to do.
