I call mine "The Highlander" because of my Celtic Heritage, and the fact that the thing is Green. LOL When the kid and I were out racing on my Holiday, We had huge speekers in the bed tied down blairing 'Scotland The Brave' as we'd accelerate. (that's bagpipe music) I'll tell you what, As a 20 year old I find that extremely fun, moreover my 2 year old son is belted in next to me gigiling up a storm saying, "Faster Daddy!" Especially when beating rap playin hondas, and country playing v8 rigs. 8)

Best to all!

Most of my trucks I have had in the past I called them whatever the previous owners name was or the town I picked them up in. Like "NELSON" that was a z71 CHEVY,"MAXWELL" that was a big dually I had etc.... For some reason I have not really named this truck but have refered to it as "The Sweet Machine" or "The crew". My kids call it the "Schwan Man Truck" I guess its the color? I have a guy at work that calls it "Big Green Ugly" I have for some reason overlooked actually naming this, I will have to get to thinking about this.

I just call my 1968 red f100 "The Truck". My dad used to have a white 1969 Chevrolet Cheyenne that he called "la Paloma" in spanish which translates to "The Dove" in english.

A brief history of The California Cowboy (CACWBY). After I bought it in San Berdoo in 89 my girls called it called "White Truck", in part becuase we had a cat named White Cat, and they were both white. I guess I kind of became the California Cowboy after moving to Wisconsin in 1990, I was born in SW Mo to a couple hillbilly's who moved to No. Calif. in the 50's because, well, the streets were paved with gold and it was the end of the hillbilly/okie rainbow. And I became part Califonia kid who had country roots - and I grew to accept that, and have been to Dick Dale concerts and Merle Haggard, and on & on, so my Trucks Nickname is also an extension of me and my persona. And when it was time to re-do it I still had to keep at least part of it White as a token of it's past and so my girls (now women) wouldn't forget.

A brief history of The California Cowboy (CACWBY). After I bought it in San Berdoo in 89 my girls called it "White Truck", we also had a cat named White Cat, and they were both white. I was born in SW Mo to a couple hillbilly's who moved to No. Calif. in the 50's because, well, it was the end of the hillbilly/okie rainbow and the streets were paved with gold. And I became the not so uncommon in the trailer parks I grew up in -Califonia kid who had country roots - and I grew to accept that, and have been to Dick Dale concerts and Merle Haggard, and on & on. So my Trucks Nickname is also an extension of me and my persona. I am not a real Cowboy- and not a real Californian either (whatever either of those really are), to me a California Cowboy is someone who feels comfortable in a bunch of roles (who has surfed Trestles before it was legal, and seen the sunrise from a sleeping bag in the desert more than once), and can wink at it all. So anyway when it was time to re-do it I still had to keep at least part of it White, as a token of it's past and so my girls (now women) wouldn't forget.

After getting this thing home, and my kids seeing it, all I heard was " look at that beast". So it stuck, The Beast.

I call my 68 "Effie" or "The Bumpside" since it's a flare side.
My wife calls it the old truck, because I have a 99 F150 as well.
My four year old calls it the "blue truck" or the "loud truck"

If you have kids, here's a little funny story on the "loud truck" name.

I put the new 302 in the truck a couple years back when my daughter was only two. I was so eager to start it after I got the headers, I ran it open headers for fun. She was walking into the garage as I fired it up and she immediately put her hands over her ears. To this date, when she sees the truck in the garage, she covers her ears even though it hasn't been running in some time. My wife and I get a kick out of it!!
