I was at my county fair and was watching the local pull and there was proberly 10 67-72 ford truck and couple GMs and handful of mopars. Well the first truck was a 72 ford f250 390 4bbl holley 411 gears it pulls and get 287.8 ft and then a 1985 gmc c20 with 350 Q-jet 4spd 373 gears and hooks up to the sled and the truck tries to pull the shed the 350 just bogged down in second and so he retrys in first and it moves the sled 5 ft.
. Then in the open class was a 2003 chevy 6.0 vortec auto pulls 295.4 ft about a $15000 truck then after that there was a 67 ford f250 352 4bbl holley 4 spd 373 gears the motor was rebuild and bored 30 over crank was 10 over Alumium heads and alumium intake it pull a FULL PULL 300 ft a $5000 ford beats a $15000 chevy.
but they didnt win that class it was a old 73 dodge with 426 hemi 6 pack 4 spd 456 gears it did a full pull and so the 67 and the 73 dodge pull again and the ford get 296.9 and the dodge gets 298.7. So the 67 was still respected. it was great i try to find my phone usb so ican get the video and pics on here.
