anyone give blood?

i saw ad to get paid to give blood. it is 60 minute drive for me. but i need to make some money some how. how long did it take you. did they care if you had diabetes? will i end up just spending money on gas to do the round trip and not really make any money?

You can go to Lawrence and give plasma, takes about a hour and they pay you $40(i think) for the first 5 trips.

5 trips for 40.00? oh man it costs more than that in gas to make those 5 trips.

i have had type 1 diabetes for the past 25.5 years and i have given blood in the past several times. never been paid for blood but my friend use to give his plasma and made some pretty good money when he did

If you get paid for giving blood does it count towards your personal blood bank like when you give to the Red Cross? When I was stationed at Ft. Hood in the early 80's I had more than a few friends who would drink thru their pay checks in just a couple of days, you could always count on them being the first in line at the plasma bank and I think they would get $45 per visit.

I'll ask the wife, a friend of hers gave plasma a few times when she was broke and told her about it.
