will a short bed body and frame fit in

Post by 48prerunner »

I need to move a frame and a short box. Will a short bed box and frame fit in the back of a super duty? With the tail gate down I have 10 feet, the frame is about 15 feet long so figure it would over hang 5 feet. The bed I plan on standing up on the front. I guess i'll have to measure the height of the bed to see if i have room to run the frame along side it. Anybody try this?

6 feet past the rear bumper is quite an overhang. You have to pay attention to your back end when turning.
I'm sure a super duty can support the weight; just not sure how much will be behind the rear axle.
Don't forget something red tied to the end.

here is how i hauled a bed one time. it fits and works fine. i have also hauled a bed on top of my little dakota utility bed. it works real good too. if you haul the bed like this i dont know how you would strap down the frame inside of the bed though.

Yeah planned on a red flag on the frame.

I thought about loading it that way but think the 67-72 bed is narrower than the 99 bed. if the stake pockets would line up iI thought about putting something in to connect them. Worried about it shifting if i put it on that way. Have to haul it about 200 miles.
