You think a bump cab will fit in the back of my 2003 GMC?
So I found a good solid cab but my trailer is 300 miles away. Do you think a cab from a 1971 F100 will fit in the back of my 2003 GMC Sierra, extended cab, short bed?

A bump cab is about 7 feet dor to door, and about 5 feet long with no brackes or anything protruding.

well i fit one in the back of a 1999 Ford F150 short bed had to leave the tailgate down since the cab was about 2 inches longer than the length of the bed

So the width of the bed wasn't a problem? The cab sat flat on the floor of the bed without any problems from the fender wells? I'm guessing the front of the cab was facing sideways out of the truck right, with the doors facing forward and backward?

a bump cab wont fit in the back of a 94 F250 not really. it will but it sits above the wheel wells and is a tight fit against the sides of the bed top rail.

And this is why I like "flat beds"
We had one in a 7x5 foot trailer and it fit perfectly..

Yes you can do it. Just make sure it is tied down securely. May ride high, but hey it will work.

Re: You think a bump cab will fit in the back of my 2003 GMC?
Dont know if this will help or not, I bought a 68 cab and went to pick it up and had blocks to hold the cab off the bed floor with me. I was useing a 93 F150 shortbed pick-up and we used a engine hoist and set the cab in the bed of the truck without useing any blocking under it to lift it off the floor, The cab sat down on the floor and i could close the tailgate, there wasnt any room to spare closeing the tailgate but it fit, And didnt have to block up the cab to clear the fenderwells. and i drove 450 miles back home. I think ive got a picture of it, havent found it yet but ill keep looking.

The more important question is: why in the world do you own a GMC?
J/k...I happen to own a couple of chebbies myself.
