Post by 69rangerf100 »

How do you know he doesn't know what he has...?

Oh, and do school buses have these clusters because on 365 (?) north between Gainesville and the gorge there is a field full of school buses...

Tell him it's his part and he need to put a price on it.

But I'd say $25. If he knows what he has he will tell you that's too low and you simply go up in price until you agree or until you realize he thinks its gold plated.
No sense in offering $50+ in case he knows what he has. Check to see first.

That pretty much sums it up. If you're on a tight budget and that's all you have to spend on it then you can offer with a clear conscience and if he flames you for low balling then he's a jerk and doesn't deserve your business. It's not what it's worth, it's what it's worth TO YOU. Too many people out there think they've got a gold mine but the reality is it's just not worth that to the average Joe. This ain't Barrett Jackson and most people like us can't afford that price tag. I paid $175 for a set of '73 disc brake spindles with dust sheilds and I struggled with that for a month before I bought 'em. Just my opinion.

I agree with sargentrs, did you see that chucklehead on e-bay asking $399 for a 600 panel with gauges and that's with with old mechanical 4k tach.

Depends on how good the chrome is and how many extra holes it has...

I'd go $50 easy on good chrome just to resell. $30 doesn't buy much anymore so try to remember that.

On deals like you are having I usually reply back that if they can't price it I can't afford it, but I will give them $5 so they don't have to think about it anymore. It get's the ball rolling.
