Riding Lawn Tractors for Fun?

Wish I could post pictures of my "gopher"( but can't). I named it "gopher" because I use it to "gopher" any/everything.
I have a 13 hp lawntractor ,( no mower deck), painted camo, dual 2&1/2 inch exhaust with chrome tips out back, chrome baby moon hub caps on front, chrome directional spinner hub caps on rear , larger rear tires, drink holder on hood, 4 tool box/bags at different locations, trailer hitch pin + 2'' ball hitch , all tires liquid filled,lights front & rear , horn+ backup warning horn, a few more additions but you get the picture.
I use it at least 6 days a week working around home & sometimes in the garden, it saves me a lot of time & does a varity of chores.
I use it & I service it regularly to keep it in excellent condition so it will do the job when called on. it is not used for speed, most of the time it just idles along.
I encourage anyone who does any work around home ( and who doesn't) to get a "gopher" , it is so so useful.
I didn't mean for this to be so long, but wanted to share the usefulness of a "gopher" .

Not sure what you mean with the hardware store exhaust? Yes I was planning to piece together some tubing and run it out the bottom, but think I would need something to quiet it down. I thought maybe a moped muffler or minibike muffler. .

depends on how the exhaust is attached, if it's a flange, then you can get some flat stock, make a new one. Get some thick wire & bend up what you want as far as a shape. Take said example to the local muffler shop & let them do their thing. If you get the flange off & find the exhaust port is threaded... carefully clean the threads, screw a pipe elbow in & get a small engine muffler form your local napa.

I got this muffler at Tractor Supply. Sounds pretty cool. I had a flapper on it for awhile, but the "bing, bing, bing" it makes drove me crazy so I took it of.

I also have a Gofer. Mine is a 67 Simplicity Landord 12 hp. Has a blade on the front and hydraulics front and back. I use it all of the time around the house pushing gravel and dirt or just pulling a trailer.

Here's a pic of me and the kiddo on my 1966 Wheel Horse Lawn Ranger. It's gonna get refurbished and possibly get a bigger engine this winter if I can find one.
My advice on the exhaust is to find a way to get a mower muffler on it. I've tried motorbike mufflers a few times and they always end up much louder and more annoying than the originals.

Wheel Horses have a strong following. I've thought about picking up an older one myself since they were owned by AMC until 1974 or so.

Yeah, it's just a simple solid little mower. I like the rear discharge deck; it keeps the grass clippings off my patio and pool area. My only complaint is that mine has a 6hp Tecumseh and she doesn't have much power when the grass gets too long. I'm looking for an 8hp Kohler to replace it.

Here's my mine. '68 IH Cub Cadet 125. 12hp Kohler, hydrostatic. I bought it in April this year (on Mrs. Flatbedford's birthday). It came with a 42" deck, front blade, and snow thrower.

I have a 1966 Wheel Horse Lawn Ranger my Dad bought it new. It mowed his yard and my yard and is still going . I agree the Tecumseh 6 horse worked hard in tall grass. I overhauled it in 1981 and still use it on my yard. They were made in South Bend In. That was about 60miles from where we lived at the time. You could go to the factory and buy what ever parts you needed from their parts dept.

My engine was supposedly overhauled, but it doesn't seem like it. It gets pretty hot after awhile, then puffs out some smoke when you shut it down. If you try to start it right away again it's tough to get going.
