Bump side carryall
Does anyone have any pics of a 4 door suburban type bump side? I saw one in a movie on the sci fi channel. I think it was in Austrailia.

No, I didn't get the name. I was flipping through the channels before bed. I saw something like it on ebay au, but it was only a two door. They called it a ranch wagon. The movie could have been in South America too.

No it was a bumpside truck like ours, but had four doors and a tall ambulance style roof on it.

Re: Bump side carryall
Most were ambulances. I've got some pictures of a few, but they are on a different hard drive I'm
not using right now.. So can't access them. But they were fairly common back in the day.
I'm fairly sure they did not come from Ford like that. I think third parties converted them
to ambulances.
BTW, my dad had a 71 Ranch Wagon that looked almost identical to that picture.
Even the color is about the same. No mags though.. In fact, I think ours had Ford
dog dish caps if I remember right. I don't think they were even full wheel covers.
It was a company car.. After that, they gave him a 73 Ford LTD. That was one of the
first cars I drove after getting my license. In fact, I think I took my driving test in it.
All those old Ford sedans and wagons were tanks. They usually last for years as long
as you keep up with them. I've seen many people that got rid of them only because
they got tired of looking at them and wanted something newer. :/
I always liked wagons.. Kind of like a covered car-truck.. Except they ride and drive
like a car.

Re: Bump side carryall
The one I saw on ebay au said ranch wagon on the side but it was a two door bump with a crazy back end on it. He said it was one of two know to be built. It was a 71 or 72 f series grill on it and regular bump doors on the front and a odd shaped back and roof that was all one piece to the body. Don't know anything about austrailian cars. I would like to find one of those aussie bump ambulances 4 door things if thats what it was. Would prob cost to much to ship over tho.

Re: Bump side carryall
Was it more like this?

Perhaps more like this?

This one?

And just because I like the look of this one.

The one in the movie looked kind of like the top on but with four doors.

Are you sure it wasn't a dent? I think that is when they started building Centurions.

Re: Bump side carryall
The B pillar on the quad cab trucks is so awkward.. Ford really should've just designed and tooled special doors for the four door trucks.
