Disrespect of Old Glory

Post by Mancar1 »

A couple miles from where I live, right along a main road. There is a house where they have a flag hanging from their front porch. Instead of the stars and stripes, it is the footprint of the great american Chicken, (peace symbol, for you younguns,) and stripes. Ticks me off, :x but hey a lot of us are or have served and defended the freedom to do stupid stuff. So more power to them, and I just consider the source. America, land of the free, ( because it is the ), home of the brave.

RTG RACING, (not yelling your name, just typing it as you have), there is a big difference between flying a flag and to desecrate it.
The following on the confederate flag is just my opinion. Some see the confederate flag as a symbol of heritage, disply it in a personnel way and that doesn't seem to bother most people. Fly it in an offical capacity and you open yourself up to possible controversity. One should never use it as a symbol of the United State. There is only one flag that fills that purpose.
To all of you, I was just pissed about the flag thing, I wasn't looking for any thanks, but I do appreciate the response. Also the thanks. Which I share with all those who have and are now serving.
All gave some, some gave all.

If I fly the Stars and Bars, I fly them under the American Flag (Never Above). My family line dates back to soldiers that fought and died in that war and many other wars. I don't think that is disrespectful. The Civil War has been twisted to the point that people don't realize what the south was fighting for. I am not saying any of this to ruffle feathers, but when you look at ones heritage, is it really disrespectful to fly the Stars and Bars? My Grand Dad being a WWII Vet, My Dad being a Vietnam Vet, and me being active duty and hitting every sand pit they can send us to, I just feel it is a right to remember every soldier from every war. That battlefield had Americans on both sides dieing, and fighting for things they thought where right. The same reason we have fought in every war. I am sure that this post will be locked out sooner than later, because of the sensitive nature of this topic. I REMEMBER THEM, HERITAGE NOT HATE!

Mancar, I agree with you as well I get pretty heated about things like that! I don't know what I would do or say... But I fight for freedom of speech, just like everyone else that has served or is serving!

Looks like I poked a :hn:. My thoughts are that everyone should be able to do their own thing as long as it brings no harm to others.

No, thats heritage. 3 members of my family served under that flag. They served for thier country, because its what they believed in. They didnt serve because they wanted slaves or they were rebellious poeple, they served to protect their land homes and family from an invading army. Robert E. Lee turned down offer to command the union army, solely because he could not turn his back on Virginia. Ford the most aprt men serving in the Confederate army did so to protect their land, this became more fierce as the union army invaded and destroyed farms and plantations, stole livestaock, and burnt homes. I have one in memory of the men that served because they were doing what they thought was right.

I was in the chat room the other day and got rpped apart because I said I worked for Lockheed Martin and supported our troops. I was told by severaly Lockheed is a "joke" and I was just a stupid little assemble line worker. I might be, but I do my very dang best to make sure every part I build is the highest quality it can be, I want the fighting men and women to have the best systems on the planet. Im VERY proud of my job and I support my country and our troops. I dont have to agree with a president, policy, or military decision to support the people who defend our freedom. It hits home for me, my cousin and his wife are Navy, based in Hawaii. With Koreas developement of a missle that could hit Hawaii the military sent THAAD interceptor missiles to Hawaii. I worked on that program, build many many parts for it. over half the launchers I made parts for, I can really say its the best I can make it.

GOD BLESS ALL VETS, MIAs, those killed, and all current military personnel!!
