Its been awhile since the last update, but Ive got alot done since then, just nothin really worth takin pictures of.... I got tired of pushing this thing around in the rain so I decided to get the truck all wired up and all the mechanicals working. The truck runs and drives now, so now its just waiting on freshly painted body parts :D . Also found a '69 bed for it at pull a part with the built in tool box, I was told it was a rare option in '69 for the toolbox is this true?

Anyways here's some pics...

I found this bed a few days ago in the junkyard but there was no way to get it out cause of 2 cars in the way on the side and a full row of cars behind it. Its probably the straightest rust free bed Ive seen in years! I asked the people at the desk about getting access to the bed and they told me I had to find a way to get it out to the main walkway of the junkyard which was impossible. For the past few days all I could think about was how to get the bed out from between all those stupid cars! :x I came up with an idea but I wasnt sure if it would work but I headed out to the yard at 9am with my father. When we got in the yard and when we were in sighting distance I instantly yelled "wholy sh*t"!!!! My father hadn't seen the bed yet and said uh oh whats wrong? I replied the row of cars behind the truck are gone! :woohoo: I asked about the bed once more when I got back to the office then asked if they were going to fill that row back in today, and the person at the desk said "nope the forklift operator is not going to be here today" $108 SCORE!!!

Im stoked! one step closer!

Thanks guys

Picked up a better set of doors today, and a tailgate that someone had stashed in their garage since the early 90's it has zero damage other than surface rust. Gonna metal work all 4 of the doors tomorrow and through the weekend hopefully Ill atleast have the two fronts installed for the last time. The rear doors are a different story, one of them needs to be re skinned completely  Im not looking forward to that so Ill work on that one last  .

Thanks

Well nothing went as I had planned, but I finally knocked out the front doors today. Was makin good progress on the doors and out of no where it started snowing. So I ended up playing in the snow with my other toys until it went away since it was way too cold to paint. :D

Anyways, the "rust free" doors I picked up ended up being worse than I expected, but I had traveled 50 miles for them and decided to just buy them to make the trip somewhat worth it I guess... I did score some good glass and some jr west coast mirrors so I cant complain too much.

Oh my goodness, your pickup looks very nice. My dad used to have a 70 2wd that he converted to 4wd and it was bright red like that. I would love a bump crew.
