1989 Mazda 626, decent car?

Post by 1969FordMan »

Came across a 1989 Mazda 626 with 93,000 miles on it, for $1,500. everything works, it had made trips from east texas to Ohio, good mechanical shape. Just old and UGLY. Gets 31mpg hyway, it woulf work as a daily driver to keep the miles off my 2007 Mustang, and a work car. Anyone have any expirience with these cars? any opinions?

Years back I had a 323 Mazda car and different time had a B2300 pickup. Both were very reliable vehicles and did what was asked of them.

I had a Mazda MX-6, which was basically the same care, just a 2-door, and supposedly sportier version of it. Was a great little car, had the head reworked on it at one point, but other than that, drove it for around 5 years. Finally sold it to the neighbor across the street in 2006, and he was driving it since then. He gave it to his high-school daughter to drive-they still have it! So yes, I would definitely recommend it! Sounds like low miles on that one, too...
