On the 250 mile round trip to buy my 68, (390, 2V, C-6) I got 8 MPG. After I did a tune up, carb rebuild, plug wires, higher output coil, electronic ignition, new tires, ect. I now ave. 12 MPG. Of course after I get around to the mods. I plan on, I will get 10 MPG. I have been this route with other Ford trucks, it is a blast.

also, to you other 68 f250 owners (seems like this site has a few) any particulars i should check out first?
Yes, the "curse of the 68's" or was that 67's?
Maybe someone else on here will "bring you up to speed" or search curse of 68?

Very nice truck! Sure wish our trucks over here faired the elements like that one. :(

If our buddy Alan were still with us, he'd tell ya':
68's Rock!
according tot he forums, looks like the curse applies to 67's so i should be safe, though my mother in law would sure be pleased if the curse hit me!
lol
and honestly, i was amazed, nothing but a little surface rust here and there, fenders are immaculate, which is rarer than youd think, we get quite a bit of snow here in the mountains, whcih seems to be were most of the old truck out here come from, and as im sure you know, snow=salt=rust!

Good looking truck, nice true camper. Plug wires, 8mm Autolites for around $50 last forever unlike the $30 wire sets that shock you or the end pull off...

My '71 360 T18 with 4.10s for 10mpg loaded or empty and felt like I was pushing the motor over 65mph...
