Blue dot taillights

Post by 91Bear »

There's a thread over at the H.A.M.B. about blue dot taillights. I noticed that Taillight King has blue dot lenses for the bumps. Nice.

The photos were obviously not taken from the same distance. I'm pretty sure both lenses are the same size.

They are pretty easy to install yourself. I like how they look, and they give a purple tint to your lights when viewed from a distance.

I think I had to file a little more off after I cut the holes.

Before I switched to LED I rocked these for years. I got a lot of funny looks and questions, mostly women.

I have had blue dots in my lenses for many years.I have the glass dots not the plastic ones. I drilled the lenses with a 1/8 bit and worked my way up as to not crack the plastic.

If you're going to go with dots go glass, plastic sucks ;)

All they do is make it look different when off, purple when on, and illegal when a cop sees them in California (no cars are allowed blue lights except police). A lot of muscle car and Harley guys used to run them, you don't see them as often anymore though.
