Project 67
Hello everyone. This is my first project a 1967 F100. I have found this truck simple to work on, and it will be a driver with restoration in progress. First I am starting to find small things wrong with it, a missing spring here, wrong spring there. Getting new fuel lines in it, spark plugs that sort of thing. I started with that and she is running and shifting real well. A new windshield will be put in sat 11-27-10, so I decided to get the dash apart and cleaned up along with the gauge cluster and so forth. It will be a work in progress truck but drives great. Oh yea, I only paid $850 for it. Here are a few photos .

11-26-10. New windshield put in today Now she (yes she) is street leagle and I will have it on the road next week. Now I am starting on the interior getting the rust off the floor and repair some spots. Pics coming soon.

Yes it is. I am going to do this as a rolling restro. I want the fun of driving it and working on it at the same time. its on the road now. Found out that the U joint are bad so that is the next little project to do.

Got the rear drive shaft out today and what a chore that was. The U brackets were rusted onto the rear U joints and I had to WD40 the hell out of em, and use a hammer to get them out so I can replace the 2 rear U joints. While I was under there I replaced the Driveshaft Bearing as well, what the heck. I will post pics soon of the work. it is one thing at a time. Next I start to work on the inside and patch holes on the outside as well.

Ok update, got the U Joints put in and the drive shaft in place and low and behold, the clicking is still there. I took the drivers side rear tire off and found I had a hard time getting the drum off and had to pry it off. I am sure it is not supposed to be that hard to get off. I cleaned all the parts off and found a cable that is starting to frey. You can see it in pic 1 with the arrow on it, and it is touching that spring. If anyone can inform me that I think I should ajust the break on this hub back a little so the tire can spin a little more free, because I think that the ajuster can not move at all.

These breaks are self adjusting. If you moved the star wheel to get the drum off, then driving in reverse should get the shoes back to where they need to be relative to the drum. If you were able to pull the drum off without any adjustment, that would be a first for me. Ehen you get the drum back on there should be a bit of drag when you try to spin it. Hope this helps.

Yes it helps. I got rid of the click on that side, I have to do the other rear ajustment and that should take care of both sides.
I have started some of the filling of holes (small ones) with some JB WELD, then I will top it off with a little bondo to smooth it out. More pics coming as soon as I get something to take a photo of LOL

That truck was a good find. It takes time, but when you are done it will look and great.

The JB is working great at pluging the hole, I will have to use a little bondo on her here and there. but I like the results. I have to sand down the extra JB off and get them smooth before the bondo. I just got done cleaning up both back breaks and they seem good, all but the shoes, have to replace them soon. The breaks are hard to push, is that common with these trucks????
The plan is getting the thing running good, driving good, breaks done, and steering before I rip into taking the bed off to start the rear end. I have to rebuild the column soon, it likes to stick in 1st. Anyway, I will be asking all of you some questions to help me with my first project. Thank you in advance.....

Well, I started on the body with removing the moldings, and pluging the holes since money is tight till I get paid to start on the bushings on the front end. Popped the molding off, grinded the paint away and I will fill the holes with JB Weld. I also used it on the bed rails to start on the holes there as well, and It works great. For an old truck there is not many dents I will have to use bondo on, but I will have to. Tomorrow I start work on the inside of the cab from the door jams in, rust removal and primer baby.

Looks good man. Do you have a wife or girlfriend by any chance? If so you may want to look up "The Curse of The 67".... LOL Sweet truck, I like the straight 6.
