Info plz

Post by max03 »

Iam fairly new to the fordification world and wonders if anyone has any tips on how I can find out who or how many ppl owned the 72 ranger before me. The guy I bought it from didn't kno much ab it except the got it from a guy that couldn't pay a debt to him. $500 I couldn't let go and it ran, rough but ran lol. Since then I've rebuilt the c6 and rearend, new breaks and had the 360 bored 30 over. Waithing on pistons and bearings to arrive along with a gasket kit I thought I'd ask, thanks

Yeah, state title searches, but sometimes it's best not to look too hard...

That's no fun. Look for clues and piece together your own history, like a crime scene detective. My truck came from Ventura Ca originally. In the bedside tool box there was a 1972 SEARS fire extinguisher and a set of snow chains in a canvas sack marked California Highway Dept. Using this evidence it became clear to me that my truck was originally part of D.B. Coopers getaway plan cuz, why else would someone from Ventura county (west coast) need snow chains? The fire extinguisher was just in case he ran across Smokey up in the mountains. That's my story and I'm stickin with it.

I was fortune enough to get the owners manual with my truck and it had the owner that bought it new in 68 printed in it. So all together 3 owners including me. I would check every inch of the truck cab, you'd be amazed what you find.
Thanks JP! Ms. Cordova is a factory 1969 Ford F100 Ranger with a 390, Front disc brakes, Cordova copper orange, behind the seat box

The hacks that owned them second and third were the real problems.

Im lucky, My truck was purchase August 8th 1969 by Cecil Miles from Tommie Vaughn Motors in Houston TX. He owned the truck until June of this year, when I bought it. Im the second owner. He knows where every little dent came from, and every little detail about the truck. I was Lucky, $1500 got me a running bump and every tiny detail, as well as an extra Grile and carb. I didnt really have the money at the time but I just couldnt pass the truck up. Now im trying to get my hands on a 1970 bump and I have no idea where its been.
