you know that is one thing i have never been any good at. and that is finishing something that i have started working on. when i rarely do finish something. it is either half aced. or it doesnt work. i just dont have the patience to work on stuff to fix it most times. i always want to hurry up and get it done so i dont have to do it anymore. and if i do something that is new to me. and it works right. i feel really good about it. but i havent felt really good like that in years. i can do small stuff and its ok. but large stuff. forget it. i wimp out.

Fordman has an attitude, that's funny...

I think the only guy that comes accross as having an attitude is Hawkrod. He's a Ford parts finder / specialist and from what I've read over the last couple years probably knows more than any two of the rest of us. So I can understand his frustration when being argued with after seeing the wrong stuff posted all the time and just trying to get the correct info out there.

This is why I hate texting folks...... Always end up calling to explain because "they" added their own "wrong" emotions..

Just one thing to take away from the internet (Fordification) is information and leave the emations at home. I have never read anybody personally attacking anyone.

The only thing I thought was funny but true was the person asking how to change the belts on his power steering pump. Someone replied, "If you can't do that you should have someone else do it!!" It is harsh but may just be true....

I just needed to vent.

In my "official" capacity:

If you see someone crossing the line to personal attacks or fighting use the report post button - it is a triangle with an exclamation point in it. Be specific in the report. We cannot read every post, so we need some help sometimes.

Now, as a "member" I will say this:

I think it is incumbent on the original poster to provide complete information in an understandable format including everything done to troubleshoot and the results. If you want quality answers ask a quality question. It sets the stage for the rest of the thread.

Answer any follow up questions posted, it is unbelievable how many times someone will ask for help, get asked a few wholly appropriate questions to help with the diagnosis and then in the next post fail to answer the questions followed by another "could it be" question. It is frustrating.

Remember too that the technical forums are not the general discussion forum, if someone is working on a problem they don't want to sift through a bunch of "banter" or "great post" post. There are still some folks on dial up and it is frustrating for them when they get a topic reply notification to their question spend the time to get back to the forum expecting some troubleshooting or an answer and it is "banter" or a "great post" post.

I have seen some pretty rude responses on here as well. I can't find the thread right now, but just recently someone asked how to do a fairly simple job, and the response he was given was "If you can't figure THAT out, you should just take it to a shop!"
Now, that's just rude! Not everyone here was born graced with the mechanical knowledge of some of you, so just "Lighten up, Francis."
