You got the worst of it. We were running 34 degrees on average and just stayed liquid on the roads here. Thank Goodness. Ice sucks!

It hit us here in Chattown, just not as bad. I leave for work way before the 9-5 er's to get in front of em' all!
After last night, I'm definitely looking into it! Thanks!
I remember growing up here having to have chains on the Studebaker Lark to make it anywhere near home. Might want to check into the legality of chains, I was under the impression they were outlawed here in TN years ago due to the damage they do to the roads?

We've had some crazy weather so far. First, we didn't have any snow till the beginning of Dec and the temperatures were mild as well. Than last week we got a mayor snow storm that closed all Schools for three consecutive days. Very unusual for here. Than another big storm came in just west of us here Sunday night and that shut down a 62 mile stretch of hwy running from Sarnia Ontario (border town with Port Huron MI). The westbound lanes were shut down till this (Thursday) morning. They had to called in the army to help rescue the stranded commuters with Helicopters. In total there were about 200 big trucks and about 130 smaller vehicles. During the day today they found a 41 year old male that froze to death. It appears that he wandered away from his vehicle and became disoriented. That stretch of road is usually bad in winter but it hasn't been this bad in many many years.

Still waiting for that 1/4" of ice and 6-12" of snow. last 2-3 years have been 2-3 storms between nov and jan where we get 1/8-1/2" of ice followed by 2-12" of snow. but nothing yet this year besides temps in the teens.

Crazy today. 50*+, clear and sunny, hardly any wind. Feels like a beautiful spring day! Rain and freeze supposed to be moving back in tonight. Weather is the only profession where you can be wrong 100% of the time and still keep your job. Go figure....

Yeah, my daughter has the WORST sense of direction. I used to get these panic stricken phone calls from her at least 3 or 4 times a month......Daddy! Help me! I took the wrong road and I'm llllooooooooosssssssttttttttt......Sob, sob, sniffle..... Honey, where are you? I don't knooooooowwwwwwwww.......WAAAAHHHHHH! LOL. I'd have her get to an intersection and tell me what the roads were, then google earth it and get an aerial view and talk her back to a place she knew so she could find her way home. Now, 4-5 years later, I still get the calls but it's more like..... Daddy, I'm lost again, would you get on google earth and tell me how to get back ...giggle, giggle. The joys of fatherhood!
